Detail Itinerary
Day 1- Arrival in Paro-Thimpu
Flight to Paro can be exciting on a bright, clear day. Flying high above the clouds you get to see beautiful mountain peaks below which gives ecstasy feeling to add curiosity to your journey.
Upon arrival to Paro airport, our office representative will receive you and drive you to Thimpu. Along the Paro-Thimpu highway, past Isuna village and before Chhuzom which is the base of a mountain across the Pa chu river, lies Tachogang Lakhang. Tachogang means ‘temple of the hill of the excellent horse’ and the monument is said to be built in early 15th century.
After arriving in Thimpu, the visit can be made to Trashichho Dzong. It is a fascinating fortress/ monastery that houses Secretariat building, the throne room of His Majesty, the King and various government offices. Evening can be spent by visiting a handicraft emporium.
Overnight stay is at a Hotel in Thimpu.

Day 2- Thimpu- Paro
After a leisurely breakfast, the Bhutan tour proceeds with the tour in and around Thimpu. The first visit in Thimpu can be made to the National Memorial Chorten. It is a monument for world peace and prosperity that reflects Buddhist philosophy. The paintings and statues inside the monument are remarkable. Then, Institute for Zorig Chusum can be visited which is also known as Arts and Crafts School or Painting School.
Afterwards, drive to the city will lead you to visit Textile and Folk Heritage Museum. These both museums were opened in 2001and provide interesting information on Bhutanese material, culture and lifestyle.
Finishing off in Thimpu, short drive will be taken towards Paro valley to the Paro town for sightseeing.
After arriving in Paro, first visit shall be made in Simtokha Dzong, which is officially known as Sangak Zabdhon Phodrang (Palace of the Profound Meaning of Secret Mantras). It was built in 1629 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and is said to be the first dzong built in Bhutan.
Simtokha Dzong lies around 5 Km South from the centre of Thimpu. The valley below road shows plant-and soil-protection project, the National Museum Centre and the large-red-roofed Royal Institute of Management. The dzong is also the home of the Institute for Language and Culture Studies where both the monks and common students come to study.
Ta Dzong can be visited later, which lies 5½ Km away from Tshongdu town of Paro and 500 feet from the Ringpung Dzong. Ta dzong was built in the 17th century to save the country from assaults of Tibet and India by the then Penlop of Paro, La Ngonpa Tenzin Drugda.

Day 3- Paro Visit
After breakfast, today’s visit starts from the Takstang Monastry which is also known as the Tiger’s Nest. Paro Taktsang is the popular name of Taktsang Palphug Monastery, a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex, which is in the Cliffside of the upper Paro valley of Bhutan. A temple complex was first built in 1692 around the Taktsang Senge Samdup (stag tshang seng ge bsam grub) cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three months in the 8th century. Today, Paro Taktsang is the best known of the thirteen taktsang or tiger lair caves in which he meditated.
Later, a short tour can be made for sightseeing Drukgyal Dzong and Kichu Lakhang. Drukgyal Dzong was a fortress and Buddhist monastery, now in ruins, located in the upper part of the Paro valley.
Kyichu Lhakang is an important Himalayan Buddhist temple situated in Lamgong Gewong of Paro district in Bhutan. It is one of the oldest temples of Bhutan, originally built in the 7th century by the Tibetan Emperor Songsten Gampo.
The evening can be spent in exploring around the area in Paro town.
Overnight stay is at a Hotel in Paro.

Day 4- Departure from Paro
Breakfast is served by the Hotel and then, transfer to Paro airport for flight destination is made according to the schedule.
